Ferrari have released design
development sketches of the forthcoming 456 replacement, expected to be
known as the '460 Bologna', and confirmed that it will receive its world
premiere at next January's Detroit Auto Show, underlining the growing importance
of North America to the Ferrari-Maserati Group. The 4-seater 'Grand Tourer'
will be powered by the Enzo's 6.0-litre V12 and immediately obvious is
how far back the front engine is to be mounted in an effort to improve
on the 456GT's acknowledged handling weaknesses. Power is fed through the
rear wheels.
Internally codename Project
F137, the €200,000 sportscar will be 5 metres in length and hit a
top speed of 300km/h while the 0-100km/h dash will be reached in just under
five seconds. |
