Major
product launch for the Ferrari-Maserati Group has been the Quattroporte
luxury saloon. The first four door saloon to be built by Maserati under
Ferrari ownership, the Quattroporte builds on a Maserati tradition in this
area. Designed by Pininfarina its exudes style with strong styling cues
apparent immediately and initial reaction has been very positive.
The
Quattroporte is joined on the Maserati section of the stand by two Coupes
and a metallic blue Spyder in Vintage specification, the Coupe-based Trofeo
racer and finally a historic part-size race model.
Accross
at Ferrari they have launched the 575M based 575GTC ( C for Competizione
) sportscar racer which is destined for customers racing in the FIA GT
Championship and American Le Mans Series. With the engine's stroke altered
to boost capactity to six litres, 600bhp is available in the 575GTC, which
also makes major use of lightweight composite materials, boasts beefed
up brakes and a race-bred gearbox.
Headlining
the display is Michael Schumacher's F1 World Championship leading F2003-GA,
which is mounted next to the F1-technology derived Enzo supercar. The 360
Modena based 'Challenge Stradale', a 360 Spyder and the front engined 575M
complete the line-up.
