Fiat
have a huge stand in Frankfurt with all their new and existing models strongly
represented. The recently launched Panda has a line-up which includes the
World Premiere of the Simba-styled SUV version. The cluster of Panda model
sit in their own dedicated area, just opposite a selection of production
ready Idea models, the Punto-based mini-mpv due to roll out of the factories
shortly.
The
faclifted Punto is well represented by 3 and 5 door models in Dynamic and
Active specification, which include the new 1.3 Multijet option as well
as a higher performance 'Sporting' in bright yellow. The Punto range is
completed by an aggressive-looking competition Abarth Rally. Completing
the line-up are a series of Stilo models, which include the Abarth, JTD,
and Multiwagon, the restyled Barchetta and lastly a Doblo Malibu.
The
spacious stand is well laid out and there is a quiet confidence here that
the future looks much rosier for the struggling carmaker, as a wide range
of exciting new models replace the ageing line-up. With uptake of the new
Punto increasing and interest in the new Panda and Idea strong, Fiat feel
that the corner has been turned towards a brighter future.
