02.04.2003 5,000,000TH FIAT PUNTO ROLLS OFF THE PRODUCTION LINE
| Earlier this year the 5
000 000th Fiat Punto rolled off the production line since the model was
introduced in 1993. The original version was replaced in 1999 by the second
series. A final facelifted version will appear this summer.
The Punto has now overtaken the Panda which has sold 4.4 million so far, but still has some way to go before reaching the 8.1 million of the Uno. Other mass produced Fiats include the Nuova 500 of which 3.9 million were made, the 127 (3.7 million) and the 128 (3 million). |
