20.04.2003 FERRARI & MASERATI INTRODUCE NEW MODELS AT NEW YORK AUTO SHOW
Two new models from the
Ferrari-Maserati Group have been introduced at the New York Auto Show which opened on Friday and runs until 27th April. The Ferrari 360 Modena-based 'Challenge Stradale' which received
its world premiere at the Geneva Motor Show last month has made its North
America debut here, while the US-targeted 'Vintage' specification Maserati
Spyder has also been unveiled for the first time.
The new models were introduced by Ferrari-Maserati North America President Mauritzio Parlato. Only 200 examples of the limited-run Ferrari 'Challenge Stradale' will make their way to the USA. The car, based on the 360 Modena, has been lightened considerably, offers revised aerodynamics and an extra 20bhp over the 360. The first 'Vintage' specification Maserati Spyder, a light blue 2003-specification Cambiocorsa version, received its world premiere here. The Vintage’s grille incorporates a chromed mesh and trimmed trident Trident badge. The front wings offer chromed side vents while further along the flanks the door handles are also finished in chrome. New 18-inch alloy wheels and painted brake calipers complete the exterior changes. Inside, a revised instrument console and aluminium dashboard features, complete the specification. Parlato also confirmed that North American deliveries of the Enzo supercar have now commenced. |
