| The 2 millionth car produced
at the TOFAS plants in Bursa has rolled off the production line with a
ceremony. Prime minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan, ministers and representatives
of the parliament attended along with TOFAS Board of Director Executive
Mustafa Koc, Koc Holding Management Comitee Senior Executive Temel Atay,
Koc Holding CEO Bulend Ozaydinli, Koc Holding FIAT Group Executive Aydin
Cubukcu, FIAT International Work Improvement Group Executive Jan Nahum,
TOFAS CEO Antonio Bene, suppliers and TOFAS branches and workers.
TOFAS Board of Director Executive Mustafa Koc said in a speech during the cermony: "Today TOFAS is a real Industry Giant in the real meaning." He also mentioned that TOFAS is the unchallenged leader of the Turkish market and will be 'for years', and that TOFAS has made exports worth of 1.4 Billion U$D's. Mustafa Koc continued: "TOFAS is today not only in the Industry area it is also a global actor in the marketing area, with successes such as the Fiat Dobló. TOFAS is today Turkey's largest private sector Industry foundation." growing in Turkey TOFAS CEO Antonio Bene who also made a speech during the ceremony, stated that they are proud to be the leaders and pioneers of the Turkish Automobile Industry and build the 2 millionth produced car. Bene also said that TOFAS is adding important value to the Turkish economy: "We're growing with Turkey, there are millions of cars to be made." Antonio Bene also mentioned that products having the "Made in Turkey" label are symbolic to the achievments of Turkish engineers, and that they are improving their own technologies with Turkey's largest Research & Development laboratory. Bene also said that it is easy to pronounce two million, but when it is thought that every third car in the parking lot is produced by TOFAS it is clearer how huge the amount of cars made is. 2 millionth car a Fiat Palio GO The two millionth car, central to the ceremony was a Fiat Palio GO, a new version of the Palio World Car. With it's original interior and strong options package, the Fiat Palio GO has recently been introduced to the market. It is available in Carmen Red and Neptune Blue options. The FIAT Palio GO which will be produced in a limited numbers, was test driven by Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan, TOFAS Board of Director Executive Mustafa Koc and TOFAS CEO Antonio Bene together. by Tolga Yilmaz |
