Ferrari introduced rising Brazilian star Felipe Massa who has joined the Formula 1 team as an official test driver to assist Luca Badoer in testing duties. He has replaced fellow Brazillian Luciano Burti who had a testing role with the team last year.

23-year-old Massa had a short meteoric rise before joining the Swiss Sauber Formula 1 team last year. An up and down season saw him dropped by the team in favour of Heinz-Harald Frentzen for 2003, and unable to raise a budget to take up the vacant Jordan drive, he has been forced to take a step back.
