05.11.2003 FERRARIS HIT THE TRACK AS BUILD UP TO LE MANS 1000KMS BEGINS

Most of the teams competing at the Le Mans 1000kms this weekend arrived on Monday for four days of private testing at before qualifying takes place on Saturday.

Heading the Italian contingent are the two Care Racing owned Ferrari 550 Maranellos which were delivered straight to Veloqx Motorsports, after returning from a season in the North American ALMS series.

Driven by Peter Kox, Jamie Davies, Darrer Turner and Tim Sugden, the cars are being run by Veloqx, backed up by Prodrive personnel, renewing a partnership that took GTS honours at the Le Mans 24 Hours.

They have been joined by two Ferrari 360 Modenas, one from new team Scuderia Ecosse driven by ChampCar star Dario Franchitti's brother Marino, Carter and Niarchos, while US based Cirtek Motorsport's black 360 Modena is being pedalled Engelhorn and Montermini.
