CARE RACING GEAR UP FOR
A STRONG & EXCITING FIA GT CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES
At Barcelona this coming weekend, the sight and sound of the two BMS Scuderia Italia Ferrari 550s, so successful and popular throughout last year, will be enhanced with the addition of a third scarlet Maranello under the ownership of Care Racing. For the 2003 FIA GT Championship, Care Racing will be entering its own car. Driven by experienced FIA GT regulars Lilian Bryner and Enzo Calderari of Switzerland, together with Italian Stefano Livio, the car will be managed and operated on Care Racing’s behalf by personnel from BMS. BMS’s other two GT challengers will be campaigned by four Italians, combining a mixture of hard-charging youth and hard-earned experience. Minardi’s F1 test driver, 23-year-old Matteo Bobbi, will be teaming with another single-seater star, 26-year-old Thomas Biagi, while the more experienced Luca Capellari will be sharing his sportscar knowledge and skills with Fabrizio Gollin who joins the team from the world of Formula 3000. With potentially the most exciting and closest grid ever, the Ferraris will be up against some tough opposition, not least from fellow 550 competitors JMB Racing. However, BMS are safe in the knowledge that their four victories and five pole positions last year not only gave them valuable technical data but also proved the reliability of the cars. All of Care Racing’s Ferrari 550s have been built by the British based company, Prodrive, and are powered by a Prodrive-developed 6-litre V12 engine. The qualifying action begins in Barcelona on Saturday, 5th April. |
