FIA GT CHAMPIONSHIP ROUND 1: BMS FERRARI 550'S TAKE SECOND AND THIRD SLOTS
ON THE GRID
Today's
qualifying sessions for the first round of the 2003 FIA GT Championship
saw Jamie Campbell-Walter take pole position in his nr 14 Lister Storm.
He and his new team-mate Nathan Kinch will start alongside the nr 22 BMS
Scuderia Italia Ferrari 550 Maranello of Gollin and Cappellari, with the
nr 23 BMS car of Bobbi and Biagi third. Although the Biagi/Bobbi pairng
set the fastest time in the second qualifying session poor conditions meant
their time was almost four seconds off Campbell-Walter's first qualifying
time and only two cars in fact improved on their opening session times.
In N-GT, Team Maranello Concessionaires took pole with the nr 89 car of Turner and Burt, but will start from the back after being involved in an avoidable accident in the second qualifying session. This means that the nr 50 Freisinger Motorsport Porsche 996 GT3-RS will start from the front of the N-GT cars, ahead of the nr 88 Team Maranello Concessionaires Ferrari 360 Modena. |
