31.07.2003  AFTER THEIR DRAMAS OF LAST WEEKEND PRODRIVE FERRARI LOOKING FORWARD TO TROIS RIVIERES

Round 4 will take place on Sunday, 3rd August on the 1.52 mile temporary street circuit in the city of Trois-Rivières, located along the St.Lawrence Seaway between Montreal and Quebec City.     

The GTS podium finish of David Brabham and Jan Magnussen at Infineon Raceway last Sunday was not without its price. The Prodrive Ferrari engineers and mechanics will be hard at work as soon as they arrive in Canada repairing the battle-scarred no.80 Ferrari 550 Maranello of not only the Australian/Danish pairing but also that of Tomas Enge and Peter Kox (no.88) which also sustained bodywork damage during the race.

The knowledge and experience of the small, tight circuit gained by Brabham and Magnussen during the Series’ first visit to Trois-Rivières last year will be invaluable in mechanically setting up the car for the 3 hour race. Due to the nature of the venue, achieving a good balance and grip will be all-important for the drivers.

David Brabham explains a little more: “The race track is very challenging for the team and drivers, and you can expect to see lots of spring, damper and roll bar adjustments going on during the practice sessions. It’s tight and very bumpy, a bit up and down, so very unforgiving if you make a mistake.

“I’m really looking forward to going back to Trois-Rivières though, not just because of the circuit but also because of the town and the way they completely embrace the race.  It reminds me a bit of when we were at Adelaide, you get there and it’s a big festival, you really feel part of the town, which is nice. I thoroughly enjoyed the whole event.”
