21.09.2003  THOMAS BIAGI AND MATTEO BOBBI CLOSE IN ON THE TITLE AFTER BEING AWARDED WIN AT OSCHERSLEBEN

Fabrizio Gollin at the wheel of the BMS Scuderia Italia Ferrari 550 Maranello at OscherslebenThomas Biagi and Matteo Bobbi took the win in today's 8th round of the FIA GT Championship, taking them a step closer to the 2003 title. The two Italians from BMS Scuderia Italia crossed the line second, but took the win when the nr 14 Lister Storm was excluded from the results for causing an avoidable accident. The British team has appealed, and the results of the race remain provisional.

In the amended results, they finished ahead of the Creation Autosportif Lister, which took its first podium, and the nr 21 Care Racing Ferrari 550 Maranello.

In the N-GT class Andrea Bertolini and Fabrizio De Simone took their second win of the season, leading a Ferrari full house consisting of the their JMB Racing car and the two Team Maranello Concessionaire Ferrari 360 Modenas. A hot and close race saw Bertolini cross the line in an excellent 5th place overall, in a race of relatively high attrition.
