02.10.2003 JMB RACING LOOKING FORWARD TO FINALLY GETTING THE NEW FERRARI 575GTC ON TRACK THIS WEEKEND AT ESTORIL |
JMB Racing will be entering two of
the new Ferrari 575GTC's in the closing rounds of this year's FIA GT
Championship, starting this weekend at Estoril, and then finally in two weeks time at Monza
as the team aim to test the competitiveness of the new car in preparation for a
full challenge on the series next year. The 600bhp 6.0-litre 575GTC racer, based on the road going 575M, has been developed by N-Technology, the Fiat Group's in-house competition department, and was officially unveiled last month at the Frankfurt Motor Show. Ferrari stalwarts, JMB Racing are the first customers to take delivery of the €700,000 racer. Fabio Babini, who will share the no9 car with Philipp Peter, is looking forward to the event. "It is a completely new car, which has been developed in quite a short time, along with N-Technology. I have tested the car twice, and it will be interesting to see how it performs in race conditions. I really adore the car; it is really beautiful to look at, the lines, the headlamps, everything, it is a true racing car. It's lovely and it is fast! It will be excellent for JMB Racing if we can finish the season with some positive performances with the new car. The Pirelli tyres are very good, as the team has proved in the N-GT category. Estoril will be a test for the new car, but it would be great to have a good race! " The second 575GTC will be driven by Christian Pescatori and Boris Derichebourg this weekend. |
