25-year
old German driver Reinhard Huber, represents the latest addition to the
FIA European Touring Car entry list for the 15th and 16th rounds in Oschersleben.
Huber will be at the wheel of the second Scuderia Bigazzi Alfa Romeo 156
GTA, which was previously driven by Frenchman Eric Cayrolle (from the opening
meeting in Barcelona to Spa) and Swede Mattias Andersson (in Anderstorp).
Despite
his young age, Huber is already an experienced Touring Car driver, as he
took part in the competitive Deutsche Tourenwagen Challenge at the wheel
of Opel Astra cars. In 1999 he was classified fifth in the DTC Light, and
the following season he finished 14th in the DTC. Last year he switched
to the new Alfa 147 JTD German Cup, winning the series finale in Oschersleben
to be ranked fifth in the points.
Huber
is currently fighting for the Alfa 147 Cup crown; at the wheel of an Engstler
Motorsport car, he won two rounds of the series, at the Nürburgring
and the Salzburgring, and he’s lying second in the drivers classification. |
