30.10.2003 ALFA ROMEO WILL RETURN TO MACAU NEXT MONTH WITH TWO 147 SUPERPRODUCTION CARS FOR LOCAL DRIVERS

Alfa Romeo will return to Macau next month with two Alfa 147's. The Alfa Romeo 147 Superproduction cars, built by N.Technology and run by Autodelta, will be driven by local drivers Andre Couto, who has this year driven a Honda in the ETCC, and Filipine Angelo Barreto. Last year, when started 38 cars started the race, Nicola Larini, against more powerful opposition, finished second with the Alfa 147.

The 147 Superproduction has already won this year the Italian Superproduction Championship in the hands of another ETCC Honda regular, Salvatore Tavano, while third went to Adriano de Micheli, who also drove the Bigazzi Alfa Romeo 156GTA at Monza, in the final ETCC race. Rounding off three Alfa 147 pilots finishing in the top four in Italian Superproduction, Christian Passuti, clinched fourth.

The 49th Macau Grand Prix in China will be run from the 13th to the 16th of November.
