Monday and Tuesday, the European Touring Car Championship Alfa Romeo and BMW
teams will test at the Valencia race track, in Spain. Alfa Romeo works team
Autodelta will have one 156 GTA car, in the hands of Gabriele Tarquini, while
BMW will be represented by three different teams. BMW Team Deutschland is
expected to use two 320i cars, run by Schnitzer Motorsport and driven by Jörg
Müller and Dirk Müller; two Ravaglia Motorsport cars will represent the BMW Team
Italy-Spain, with Antonio García and Alessandro Zanardi behind the wheel.
Fabrizio Giovanardi should also join, sharing one of the cars with García. RBM
will also participate in the test with the BMW Team Great Britain car, driven by
Andy Priaulx.
A newcomer to the ETCC, Italy-based Oregon Team, will complete the field. The
formation managed by Jerry Canevisio, very successful in the Renault Clio cups,
will take part in the 2004 FIA ETCC with a couple of Alfa 156 GTA's; for this
first test, the team has invited Alessandro Balzan, Paolo Ruberti, Alessandro
Bartyan and Luca Rangoni.
The test in Valencia will be of extra importance to the teams, as the circuit
will host the Spanish round of the 2004 FIA ETCC on April Barcelona. |
