18.07.2003 VOLKAN ISIK AND THE FIAT ABARTH MOTORSPORTS PUNTO STORM TO STUNNING OVERALL VICTORY ON THE PIRELLI RALLY

The third rally in this season's Turkish Rally Championship, the Pirelli Rally, has been won by the FIAT Abarth Motorsports duo of Volkan Isik and Erkan Guleren, a huge victory for the Fiat Punto Kit Car. The experienced driver pairing, who lead from the beginning to the end of the rally, took first place on the podium in class as well as scoring a stunning overall victory. After this huge win, Volkan Isik has taken the class lead in the Turkish Rally Championship. The 24th Pirelli Rally which was organized by the Istanbul Automobile Sport Club, ran from the 12th to the of 13th July, based around Sile. The rally had a total length of 471km with 12 stages totalling 117km's. Nejat Avci driving the Palio Kit Car retired after suffering an accident. by Tolga Yilmaz |
