Turkish
pilots Volkan Isik and Nejat Avci left their mark in Georgia by snatching
the first two places on the Georgia Rally. The winning duo, Volkan Isik
and co-driver Erkan Guleren, won 22 of the 31 special laps, while the Fiat
Abarth Motorsports Palio Super 1600 of Nejat Avci and Ozden Yilmaz set
fastest time on the other 9 laps.
The Fiat Abarth Motorsports
team by winning the rally 1-2 also took the top two places in the Super
1600 class with the Fiat Palio, a car that is now really starting to see
the development work pay off, building on a reputation the car has already
gained for excellent reliability and toughness.
Volkan Isik and Erkan Guleren,
completed the Georgia Rally in 1 hour 57 minutes and 46 seconds. The Nejat
Avci and Ozden Yilmaz pairing followed them home just 46 seconds adrift.
Alexey Matveev driving a hugely more powerful Mitsubishi Evo 7 finished
third a massive 5 minutes and 20 minutes behind Volkan Isik.

pilots were delighted to achieve such a stunning result which gives them
a strong boost for the Rally Championship of Turkey.
