Leon
Pesticcio has been a regular at the wheel of the
Super 1600 Fiat Punto Abarth, most recently seen
here earlier this year on the Scottish Rally |

Welsh
driver Leon Pesticcio will go for his second
successive Super 1600 win on the Tempest Rally when he
and regular co-driver Tim Sturla visit
Aldershot this weekend.
The long time partnership has been busy this year with
forays into the British and Italian National rally
championships but their aim will be to repeat their 2003
victory in the 230bhp Fiat Punto.
The last minute
decision to contest the final round of the Pirelli Kwik
Fit British Rally Championship was twofold as
Leon explains.
“We want to keep the momentum from our Super 1600 win on
Rally Yorkshire,” said the 23 year old, “and support the
Fiat Stilo presence, since the winner will be driving
this Punto in the 2005 season." He continued, “Our Stilo
works drive on Rally GB showed that Fiat is dedicated to
UK
rallying and the Tempest is a fine place to showcase the
cars.”
The
car will be shipped from
Italy
and run by Hi-Tec, the whole team returning from Rallye
Catalunya where the final round of the Junior World Rally
Championship was hosted.

The seventy mile
Aldershot based rally starts at 19:00 on Friday with three
dark stages centred on Rushmoor Arena to the west of the
town.
The compact event has its start, finish, service area
and a super special stage at the excellent Rushmoor venue,
with the cars visiting this spectator stage several times on
Friday and Saturday.
A brisk Saturday morning re-start at
07:00 has competitors on their toes for a further fifteen
stages and a finish at around 17:00.
