Last year Lamborghini introduced a special limited edition Lamorghini Murcielago model to celebrate the Italian sportscar maker's 40th anniversary.

Instantly identifiable by it eye-catching 'Verde Artemis' colour scheme, and the use of polished carbon-fibre effect finishing panels, this car is one that stands out from the supercar crowd at the MPH04 Motor Show being held at Earls Court in London, over this weekend.

Brought to the motoring event by H.R.Owen, London's largest and most prestigious multi-franchise dealership, this car, known as the 'Murcielago 40th Anniversary' is one of the many performers in the 'Live Action Arena'.

Just fifty of the €215,000 cars were built, each of which received an individually numbered plaque mounted in the small side window positioned to the rear of the B-pillar. The car here bears the number 29/50.

The Murcielago 40th Anniversary continues a long time theme by the Sant’Agata based firm of producing exclusive, limited edition models. These include the Countach 25th Anniversary, back in 1988, and the forerunner of the Murcielago, the Diablo, which spawned an SE version in 1993.

The majority of these fifty cars went to owners in Europe, the United States and Japan, late last year.

The car's very distinctive colour scheme 'Verde Artemis' (jade green) is a three layer pearl effect, which sets it apart from the rest of the Murcielago 'family'. The immediate visual effect is enhanced by the upper door mouldings, as well as the ‘voletto’ or pillar surrounding the rear window where the petrol filler flap is located, which both feature an optic carbon fibre coating.

Strong 'telephone-dial' effect grey anthracite-coloured alloy wheels help to make the car look more aggressive. A redesigned exhaust system and silver-grey brake calipers help set the Murcielago 40th Anniversary apart. The central wheel logo, was also newly designed, accurately reproducing Lamborghini’s trademark 'raging bull' symbol.

The interior was fettled with an unusual asymmetrical design. The driver’s side is equipped with Grigio Syrius (dark grey) perforated leather while the passenger’s side features smooth black leather.

Floor mats featuring the 40th anniversary logo, and an Alpine radio with incorporated CD player, a personalised certificate, and a carbon-fibre suitcase, completed the detailed changes. Some cars were also equipped with a satellite navigation system.
