Fiat Auto South Africa will showcase two brand new models at this year’s Auto-Ex Cape motor show which takes place at the Cape Town International Convention Centre on the 2nd and 3rd July.

The showstopper will undoubtedly be the latest incarnation of the Alfa Romeo 147, which will be seen in Cape Town for the very first time in South Africa. Due to be launched locally imminently, the new Alfa 147's looks have been updated both inside and out. It incorporates a number of innovations in the field of mechanicals and equipment, including an new addition to the range in the guise of the spirited 110 kW, 1.9 JTD 16v M-Jet engine, while there’s also a new 'Comfort' suspension package and the most sophisticated of safety devices, including: VDC, ASR, ABS with EBD and curtain-bags.

Also to be unveiled for the first time in Cape Town is the Multipla 1.9 JTD Dynamic from the Fiat stable. Together with its 1.6-litre sibling, the 1.9 JTD is the very epitome of style and function.

Featuring such niceties as audio controls, electrically-operated rear windows, alloy wheels and parking sensors, the 1.9 JTD also benefits from extra safety kit in the form of side airbags.

Other highlights on the Fiat Auto stand will include the yet-to-be-launched Fiat Strada bakkie, the freshly minted Fiat Panda 4x4 and the GT from Alfa Romeo, which is well on its way to becoming a modern classic.
