This year marks
the 50th anniversary of the Swedish Alfa Romeo Owners
Club (AROC), the equal oldest owners' club dedicated to
Alfa Romeo cars in the world,
and the organisation believes that calls for a celebration, which is scheduled to
take place on Saturday 12th and Sunday 13th of August.
It will be the party of the decade for petrol heads in
Gärdet, in the Swedish capital city Stockholm.
Alfisti from all over the world are invited to
attend one of the world’s oldest Alfa Romeo Owners'
Clubs' 50th anniversary celebrations. The famous
Milanese cars will invade the city: there will be
exhibition tents, while food and drink will be served
amongst the city strollers in the immaculate Royal Park
of Djurgården. The club have also received permission
from the Royal Swedish Court to use a park in Central
Stockholm (Gärdet) for the show. Interested Alfisti
are all very welcome to join up with the celebrations on
August 12th between 11:00 and 15:00.
Not only will cars be the attraction: side by side with AROC celebrations the
National Museum of Science and Technology has an
exhibition on race cars. For those with family members
that are easily bored with cars there are many
enthertainments nearby, such as the amusement park Gröna
Lund, the open air museum and zoolical park Skansen,
while at Junibacken visitors can explore the worlds of
Astrid Lindgren's well-loved books for children, all
within a short walking distance from the Club Alfa Romeo
celebrations. Shopping is available via the bus ride
into the downtown shopping area in central Stockholm,
which is only a few bus stops away.

Sunday’s activities range from renting a canoe or a rowing
boat, fishing or taking an excursion on a Waxholm boat to
Sandhamn for lunch. Remember to mark Saturday 12 and Sunday
13 August in your diary as the dates for the celebration.
This will be an event to remember for a long time.
Information on accommodation and more details about the

Sweden hopes to see you in Stockholm in August!
Club Alfa Romeo Sweden
The Club Alfa Romeo Sweden was founded in 1956 in Stockholm.
It started as a “Thursday club” and one of the key reasons
was to educate members about Alfa Romeo's history and the
cars' construction, function and handling and help to
cooperate for the fun and benefit of all members.
Club Alfa Romeo is one of Sweden’s oldest and biggest owners
club with about 2,000 members. The members of AROC Sweden
owns almost 50 percent of all the Alfa Romeo’s in Sweden.
Local activities around the country are organized all year
round. The AROC Sweden has its own magazine that delivers
5-6 issues a year. Some of the central activities are
arranging track days and mini rally’s on country roads. The
club also has it own racing series that has eight races per
year, cars differing from total race cars to lightly
modified cars that are street legal. For more information
