Fiat Automòveis have
launched an exclusive series of the off-road targeted "Adventure" branded
model range, realised in conjunction with well known
Brazilian outdoor
equipment manufacturer "Try On". The new "Try On Adventure"
branded model range, which will extend to the Palio Weekend, Strada and Doblò models, is another
case of Fiat Auto seeking high-profile and proven brand
names with synergies as partners, this time it is Fiat Automòveis - the Brazilian arm of Fiat
Auto - and "Try On", a reputable manufacturer of tough,
dependable outdoor pursuit equipment, all characteristics that
the Fiat "Adventure" branded range seeks to exude.
This new initiative will see a range of outdoor pursuit
equipment from Try On being sold by Fiat, specifically
developed and
targeted at Adventure-branded model buyers. At the same time
an exclusive series of Palio Weekend, Strada and Doblò
Adventure models will be branded with the Try On name and
have a differentiated finish, new - eye catching - interior
materials which seek to reflect the off-road nature of these
vehicles, higher equipment levels and the incorporation Try
On equipment, including a 100 percent polyester rucksack (63
x 43 cm) which is stored behind the driver's seat, and a
larger case which can be secured to the boot floor through
dedicated flexible straps. The Try On logo will be prominent
on the cars: it is stamped onto the door aperture
kick plates as well as being embroidered into the front seat
headrests, and in the case of the Doblò, on the external
spare wheel covering. "In order to offer an extra
differential to our Adventure customers we have invested in
this policy of co-branding with the Try On brand which the
public knows very well," says Lélio Ramos, the Commercial Director of
Fiat Automòveis.
The Palio Weekend, Strada and Doblò "Try On Adventure"
models will feature a high-specification equipment range with
features targeted directly at the younger, outdoor pursuit engaging
profile of the typical buyer.

New technology has been emphasised so Try On Adventure models will all offer voice activated
mobile phone recognition, Bluetooth connectivity and a CD
player with MP3 feature. Under the bonnet is Fiat's durable
1.8-litre, 4-cylinder FlexFuel (dual fuel) engine, which provides
a maximum
power of 112 bhp (petrol) and 114 bhp (alcohol) at 5,500
rpm; and maximum torque of 17.8 Kgfm (petrol) and 18.5 Kgfm
(alcohol) at 2,800 rpm.
Since Fiat Automòveis first rolled out the Adventure
branding back in 1999 this distinctive option has proved
highly successful. The Palio Weekend (estate), long
wheelbase Strada (pick-up) and Doblò (light people carrier)
have been added to the Adventure franchise and at points
these branded models have accounted for up to 60 percent of
the models' overall sales totals. These special cars are
immediately visually identifiable
by their rugged off-road looks which include bigger, deeper
bumpers, plastic wheelarch and sill protection mouldings,
aluminium front and rear protection plates, raised ride
height, chunky alloy wheels and quad mist lights. Inside,
upgraded materials and higher equipment levels set the
Adventure branded models apart.
The next Fiat Automòveis model which will receive the Adventure designation - later this
year - will be the Idea "mini MPV". Fiat Automòveis have
also extended the Adventure franchise to special events for
owners, most recently encompassing a tour of the famous
"Estrada Real" highway where drivers were able to try their
cars out in genuine off-road situations.
