Fiat
Automòveis has collected no less than four top
prizes in the
The
Best of the Automotive Sector 2006 awards handed
out by leading Brazilian motoring magazine
Autodata. Fiat Automòveis came out on top in
judging in four different categories: 'Best Assembly
Plant', 'Best Exporter of Vehicles', 'Best Strategy of
Marketing' and for the second time, the President of
Fiat for Latin America and for South Africa
Cledorvino Belini, won the important prize of
'Personality of the Year'.
Under Belini's
guidance Fiat Automòveis has consistently turned in
strong profits a delivered good growth and Brazil
has rapidly developed its own importance within the
Group, taking on more and more responsibility in
global markets and the development of new products
which will be destined for Europe.
Since
the commencement of its manufacturing operations in
Brazil thirty years ago, nine million vehicles have
now been produced at the huge Fiat assembly plant
located at Betim, in the Minas Gerais region. Fiat
celebrated this important anniversary during the
summer with a series of events and limited edition
models.

The latest model to be
launched by Fiat Automòveis is the Idea Adventure,
which brings the "Adventure" family of off road
capable vehicles to four. |

With about 30
percent of of production being destined for export, this
makes Fiat Automòveis one of the most important exporting
companies in the South American country.
Brazil is also the most important market
for Fiat Auto after its home market Italy, and it was
responsible for 29 percent of the world-wide operations of
the brand during 2005. Having notched up its first 30 years
of operations in Brazil, Fiat is now strengthening its aim
to construct a better future for its businesses, together
with the trust of its customers, dealers, shareholders and
the society. A new US$1 billion investment programme is
currently being rolled out which will see models including
the Grande Punto and Linea being built in Brazil.
