05.07.2006 MASERATI HIT RECORD PRODUCTION LEVELS DURING MAY

Maserati has continued its upward sales trend seen throughout early 2006. Productivity has been extraordinary, with a record 613 vehicles rolling off the production lines in Modena between 1st and 31st May. This was the biggest number of cars produced by the Trident brand in a single month since 1998.

Thirty per cent of the vehicles are destined for the North American market, one that consolidates its position as a leader of the 57 markets in which the Modenese company has a presence. The flagship Quattroporte is still the most popular model, with 401 units produced. These excellent results demonstrate that Maserati is in fine shape and are proof of the success that is growing year by year.

Meanwhile the eighth leg of Maserati’s "Spell of the Trident" European roadshow touched down in the high-tech city of Dortmund in Germany a week ago last Friday. Fittingly for such a technologically-led place, a number of gorgeous and state-of-the art Maserati sportscars greeted visitors outside the Lueg Sportivo dealership.

The powerful, track-only MC12 Corsa, the sporty limited-edition GranSport MC Victory, exciting GranSport Spyder and luxurious Quattroporte Executive GT saloon immediately brought more than 100 lucky guests and several local journalists under the 'Spell of the Trident'. Once inside the venue, those invited were able to try unique, specially-created Maserati cocktails, with exotic names such as ‘Trident Excitement’, ‘IO’ and ‘Italian Style’. Whilst enjoying the plethora of Maserati multimedia on offer, the guests were also more than satisfied by a selection of first-class Italian food and wine. Speaking at the event were Mr. Alexander von Gizycki, the CEO of Lueg AG, Mr. Karl-Heinz Kalbfell, the CEO of Maserati, and Mr. Marc Lee, the General Manager of Maserati Deutschland, all of whom deemed the event to be a resounding success.
