Garage Italia
presented the full production range of its new, low-cost
city cars that recently went on sale, at the Bologna Motor Show earlier this month,
including two premières, the new luxurious model "IperTop" and a two-tone
finished "Sports" version.
Technically known as a quadricycle, the Meta is versatile,
compact, has excellent handling and has been developed to
meet very high safety standards according to Garage Italia
who believe that the best of Italian design and engineering
has been concentrated into this perky, agile, fun vehicle.
The two-seat Meta range have been designed as a very compact
city transportation, ideal for the large Italian
metropolitan areas. They have compact dimensions for their
urban tasks, being 2483mm long, 1382mm wide and 1491mm high,
with a wheelbase of 1650mm, and the have 490 litres of
luggage space.
"We started selling these cars in October, they are all
Italian made, and we are selling just in Italy for the
moment," Giulia Hinati from Garage Italia told
Italiaspeed at the Bologna Motor Show. She says that the
company's annual sales target is currently set at 1,600
units. "We are at the moment selling the cars directly, but
are creating a dealer network," adds Giulia, who says the
Meta range vehicles have received all round improvements
since being shown in pre-production form at last year's
motor show.

Three different engines are available, electric 15kW, petrol
505cc and diesel 505cc, giving good performance with low
consumption circa 3.5 litres per 100km for the diesel and
circa 5 litres for the petrol version. The maximum speed
varies from 45km/h for 4kW to 85km/h for 85kW. The electric
model has adopted an engine that is hermetically sealed for
longer duration and lower maintenance. Moreover, for the
same power, it is lighter and smaller allowing faster heat
dispersion and consequently greater efficiency and autonomy.
The two new Meta premières at the Bologna Motor Show were IperTop, and a
two-tone finished version of the Sport version, the latter
with colour-coded wheel arches, sill covers and bumper
inserts. IperTop meanwhile is a luxurious version of Meta
and comes with equipment including a rear mounted camera to
assist with parking manoeuvres, a powerful Hi-Fi system and
quick-contact opening doors. Across the range new details
include a new design of steering wheel.
