Mangoletsi, the UK’s largest
and longest-established authorised Alfa Romeo dealership,
has just taken part in the MPH06 show at the National
Exhibition Centre in Birmingham. The Knutsford,
Cheshire-based dealership presented three cars on their
stand, two of their most popular selling models: the
highly-acclaimed Alfa 159 1.9 JTDM and the gorgeous,
Bertone-styled GT Coupé 2.0 JTS; as well as offering a ‘world
preview’ of the awesome new 340 bhp Autodelta Brera J5 3.2 C
ahead of its official public debut, which set for this
coming Thursday at Earls Court in London.
The
MPH concept is quite simply a brand new idea in
presenting motor shows to the public. The organisers
enthusiastically brought together a collection of the
world's most desirable high performance cars, displayed them
all beautifully in Birmingham last week, while at the same
time bringing them to life in a unique arena, which cost
more than £1 million to put together, and which was ably
hosted by the world-renowned BBC TV ‘Top Gear’ presenter
Jeremy Clarkson, together with his regular co-presenter
James May. Now an established major event on the UK motoring
calendar, MPH takes place in two venues, London's Earls
Court and Birmingham's NEC.
“We’re really delighted with the response we received in
Birmingham last week,” says Mangoletsi Sales Executive Craig
Aspin. “The MPH06 crowd are highly knowledgeable about the
Alfa Romeo brand and its long history and are were receptive
to what we are aiming to achieve. There is a huge swell of
feeling for the brand from the public who were impressed by
the quality and style of the cars and the values they
embody.”
This year has been one of the
most important in the long and rich history of Mangoletsi,
with the arrival of the exciting ‘new breed’ of Alfa Romeo
models; and 2007 is set to carry this momentum a step
further: “Taking part in MPH06 is the first stage of an
exciting new programme we will be rolling out in the coming
months dedicated to celebrating the occasion of our 40th
anniversary, which officially kicks off in 2007,” notes
Mangoletsi Managing Director Fraser Hudson. “MPH06 also
presented us with a perfect opportunity to build further the
perception of the Mangoletsi brand, and showcase Alfa Romeo
models in front of an audience which appreciates sportiness
and style.”
”We had a very good response to our show ‘offers’ over the
last four days in Birmingham,” comments Craig. “In light of
this success we will carry them forward to Earls Court this
week.”
These offers include a ‘drive away’ price of £19,995
(including road fund license) for the Alfa GT 2.0 JTS
Coupé, fitted with 18-inch factory alloy wheels and full
leather interior; and also £14,995 for the Alfa 147 1.9 JTD 16v
150 bhp in ‘Lusso’ specification, also boasting a full
leather interior.

Both models are available for immediate delivery, and
further details can be obtained from the dealership or from
the Mangoletsi dealer staff who will be on hand at Earls
Court from Thursday to Sunday (2nd-5th November).
Knutsford-based Mangoletsi is the country’s
largest, and longest-established, authorised Alfa Romeo and
Fiat dealership. Its Managing Director, Fraser Hudson, is
understandably proud of the company’s success. “Everyone who
works at Mangoletsi is passionate about the product we
represent, and I think our enthusiasm is infectious, because
once a customer buys an Alfa Romeo or Fiat from us, they
seem to fall in love with their car,” explains Fraser. “It’s
a joy to be working with such a premier motor manufacturer
because we are able to offer a classic and sophisticated
brand with a long heritage, which we know our customers
love.”
Many Mangoletsi customers return to the dealership whenever
they decide to replace their car. “We have clients who have
been buying cars from us for over thirty years. I feel
honored that they value and trust us,” says Fraser, who
believes Mangoletsi has established an enviable
reputation. “We pride ourselves on knowing the product
inside out, so the knowledge of our staff is incredible. My
after-sales manager, Ken Buckley, has been with the company
for 34 years, my senior deputy parts manager, Roy Jeffries,
has been with us for 35 years, and my top technician, Nigel
Lawton is often consulted by the Alfa Romeo technical team
in Italy.”
“We’ve achieved a great deal over the 39
years we’ve been here, and we’ve built up an enviable
reputation,” says Fraser, who is Vice Chairman of the Alfa
Romeo Dealer Association, with responsibility for
representing all Alfa Romeo dealerships throughout Great
Britain. “We also represent the UK at Alfa Romeo conferences
in Italy,” he adds. “We’re often asked to get involved, and
offer our opinions on certain design aspects of new models,
and we get to see cars well in advance of their release
dates. So it helps enormously that I know what is going on
in the industry, and I’m able to steer the business in the
right direction.”
Today Mangoletsi is facing its biggest
challenge so far as the revival of the Alfa Romeo brand in
the UK gets seriously underway with the arrival of the ‘new
breed’ of Alfa Romeos: the 159, 159 Sportwagon, Brera and
Spider. “The new cars epitomise the Alfa Romeo brand
totally,” concludes Fraser, “and demand has been strong and
instantaneous.”
Mangoletsi will be present from
2nd-5th November on the Autodelta stand at Earls Court,
London, in Earls Court 1, Stand No S21. Mangoletsi staff
will be on hand at both shows to discuss the car and answer
any questions.
