PARIS MOTOR SHOW 2006

18.09.2006 MASERATI GRANSPORT "CONTEMPORARY CLASSIC" SET TO DEBUT IN PARIS

Maserati will be at the Paris Motor Show which opens at the end of next week with a full line-up of its high performance roadcar range, the highlight of which will be the world debut of the new GranSport "Contemporary Classic". The Maserati stand - located in Hall 1, Allée B of the Expo Centre, will showcase the current product range: GranSport MC Victory, Quattroporte Executive GT, Quattroporte Sport GT, MC12 Racing in Vitaphone livery, currently leading the FIA GT Championship and the new GranSport “Contemporary Classic”.

The Maserati GranSport MC Victory is a limited edition version of the GranSport coupé created especially to celebrate the overwhelming racing success the Trident brand achieved last year with the stunning MC12 sportscar when they won the FIA GT Manufacturers' and Teams' titles, these trophies coming after the brand had spent nearly four decades away from the international winners circle. The MC12 also won the prestigious 24 Hours of Spa, a feat of endurance it repeated this year, and the Vitaphone Racing-run cars are in fact in an excellent position to claim the title again.

To denote this on-going success on track the black-and-black liveried Vitaphone MC12 will be exhibited on the stand alongside the MC Victory. The other models presented will be the Sport GT and Executive GT versions of the Quattroporte which were first shown a year ago on the occasion of the Frankfurt IAA, as well as the GranSport "Contemporary Classic".

Elegance matched with sportiness is the key to the Maserati GranSport success: today, with the “Contemporary Classic” equipment, a full leather interior with stylish piping surrounding seats and dashboard is combined with other chic touches, such as light blue instruments with a vintage look and a full leather steering wheel. Four selections of exterior and interior colours are available for the GranSport Contemporary Classic: white, black, Green or Black exterior paint finish while inside featuring Cuoio leather (except for the red paint where it will feature black leather) and piping round the seats, side and door panels and dashboard, which will match the external colour, providing an aesthetic contrast.
