Two
German teams are now gearing up for exciting track
programmes which will see them fly the Lamborghini standard
in sportscar racing this year: B-Racing with a Murciélago R-GT
in a programme focused around the FIA GT Championship, and
Lambo-Racing who will run a Gallardo GTR in the national VLN
series.
B-Racing have just unveiled computer generated projections
of the livery which their new Lamborghini Murciélago R-GT,
set to race in this year's FIA GT Championship, Le Mans
Endurances Series and at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, will be
adorned. B-Racing took delivery of a Reiter
Engineering-built and developed Murciélago R-GT last autumn
and have conducted several track tests since, including one
at the Adria Raceway in December, as they attempt to hone
the racer into a competitive proposition for the 2006
season.
Logistics for B-Racing's season will be provided by RS-Line
Race Support while the first driver of the team was named
shortly before Christmas as Austro-American Norbert Walchhofer.
The multiple Ferrari-Challenge Champion is set to integrate
his sponsorship package into the new team. JMB Racing's
Philipp Peter had been strongly linked to the drive although
the Austrian is now believed to be out of the equation.

The last season ended on a high for Lambo-Racing
with the first ever class win for the Gallardo,
nevertheless the drivers are sure there's much more
to come: "The car's potential is not yet reached,
there's still lots of development work to do."

Meanwhile off-season is no time to relax for Lambo-Racing
GmbH. The Untermerzbach-based squad is using the free time
to add ABS to the Lamborghini Gallardo GTR: " ABS will give
us a big advantage, especially during tricky Eifel weather
conditions", explains driver Stephan Rösler. Some weeks ago,
the car had an exciting outing on the French Le Castellet
circuit during the official FIA GT3 european series
presentation. Driver Andreas Kitzerow was able to drive some
fast laps on the French circuit: "Our four-wheel drive was a
big advantage during the wet conditions. That's why we were
faster than Aston Martin, Maserati and Lotus. Four-wheel
drive wont be legal in the GT3 Championship but we wont
enter our car there anyways", explains Kitzerow. "It was fun
to drive on another circuit and we showed the car can be
competitive outside the Nürburgring," adds Rösler.
Development on the Gallardo GTR will continue until the
start of the 2006 VLN season. The last season ended on a
high with the first ever class win for the Gallardo,
nevertheless both drivers are sure there's much more to
come: "The car's potential is not yet reached, there's still
lots of development work to do."
