The Ferrari
60 Relay has now wrapped up its Central and Eastern
European leg, the ceremonial baton travelling through
Austria, Switzerland, Slovenia and the Czech Republic over
the last week. The Ferrari 60 Relay is a worldwide
event that is celebrating the Maranello sportscar maker's
60th anniversary with a series of exclusive events and
journeys.
The cars, participating in the Austrian stage of the
Ferrari 60 Relay, met at "Autohaus Rohrer" dealership in
Rankweil, in the presence of numerous journalists and
customers on 15th May. Eventually the cars left in the direction of Arlberg, wile they stopped on the road in Wald am Arlberg
and Sankt Cristoph, a typical Austrian village, where the
baton was passed on, before the Relay left in the direction
of Innsbruck, passing the Ötztal.
During the stage in the afternoon, in the direction of
Salzburg, the cars stopped in the village of Söll, at an
altitude of around 700 above sea level, surrounded by woods,
pastures and lakes. The baton was passed on to another car
and the Relay left in the direction of Salzburg, where the
members of the team and the cars arrived in the late
afternoon. Later on a press conference was held, followed by
a cocktail function.
The next day the Ferrari 60 Relay left in the
direction of Vienna, driving on Austria's impressive
highways. After a stop at the Danube Bridge, between Ybbs
and Persenbeug, and another at Castle Grafenegg, the
numerous cars from Ferrari arrived in the Austrian capital,
where they gathered in the Heldenplatz and went for a tour
through the city centre, provoking admiration and amazement
amongst the passers-by.
The Czech event in honour of the
Ferrari 60 Relay on 18th May
was one of the most exclusive and exceptional ones of the
whole Tour. The cars arrived in the Mala Strana, the "Small
Quarter", of the Check capital, and drove through the city
centre, passing the most beautiful sights, such as Parizska
Street, the Old Town Square and Hradcanske Square, arriving
eventually at Prague Castle, where the day ended with a
formal diner at the Rudolph's Gallery, in the presence of
the Italian ambassador.
