29.05.2007 the Ferrari 60 relay arrives in Egypt

The Egyptian stage of the Ferrari 60 Relay featured some spectacular events and was organized flawlessly. The cars of the participants met, together with delegates of the authorities and the Ferrari Egypt staff on Saturday morning, 26th May; the cars of the Tour left immediately in the direction of the pyramids of Giza, a breathtaking backdrop for a photo session with the cars from Ferrari. Eventually the cars came back to Cairo and the usual ceremony was held and the gift was handed over at the Italian consulate in the presence of the Italian ambassador Antonio Badini.

The following stage brought to the cars to the Katameya Heights, a place of unbelievable natural beauty. Here the staff and the numerous participating clients were greeted with a hearty welcome. In the morning the cars drove back to Cairo and the press conference was held at the Ferrari Showroom, in the presence of Mr. Khaled Mahmoud, President of the MM Group. In the evening the members of the Tour and the clients participated in the gala dinner at the Grand Hyatt, where around 250 VIPs contributed to exalt the Egyptian atmosphere of the day.

In a joint press conference with its sole importer in Egypt, MTI Automotive, Ferrari reaffirmed its commitment to the Egyptian market, announcing future strategic expansion plans with new MTI facilities in Cairo that include a new showroom offering the newest models from the renowned Italian automaker, reported Al Bawaba. "We are elated to have ended our celebration rally in Cairo, home of our trusted partner MTI Automotive. Our partnership has prospered since 1998, and it is only fitting that on our 60th anniversary we are celebrating here in Egypt with a team that ensures the level of excellence that Ferrari owners have come to expect," said Marco Cavagna, Ferrari Middle East and Africa (MEA) Regional Sales Manager. MTI Automotive is Egypt’s exclusive importer of the luxury car brands Jaguar, Land Rover, Bentley and Ferrari.

“This has been a unique moment for Ferrari and for Egypt. When the Egyptian Ferrari owners drove from the Mena House Oberoi under the Pyramids to the Italian Consulate, they celebrated not only Ferrari’s illustrious history, but its emerging place in Egypt,” said Khaled Mahmoud, Chairman of the MTI Automotive. MTI Automotive has also announced further expansion plans with the opening of a new state of the art showroom in Cairo that will offer the same Italian standard of service and attention found in any Ferrari showroom across the globe.

“Total customer satisfaction is of the utmost importance to us and with that in mind, this year we are pleased to offer the introduction of a new Quick Service Center in Heliopolis in addition to our exclusive, existing Car Care Center in 10th of Ramadan City," said MTI’s General Manager Ahmed El Gharib. With investments of 50 millions Egyptian pounds, MTI has two show rooms in Cairo and a state-of-the-art service center in Tenth of Ramadan City.
