Ferrari have released official images of
their 430 Scuderia, the road-going version of the
stripped-out F430 Challenge. The 430 Scuderia is scheduled
for an international debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show,
where the car will be launched by Scuderia Ferrari legend
Michael Schumacher on 11 September.
Based on the well-received F430, the 430
Scuderia is a no-compromise 2-seater berlinetta,
demonstrating how Ferrari’s winning Formula 1 technology can
be directly applied to a road-going rocket. Sitting firmly
on its 19-inch gold-coated alloy wheels, themselves inspired
from the legendary Ferrari F1 and P3 sportscar racers of the
1960s, the F430 Scuderia again manages to surprise as to how
outrageously overwhelming a modern Ferrari can look. The car
just asks to be driven. Flat out.
The 430 Scuderia is a machine which Ferrari bred
specifically for their most passionate and sports-driving
oriented enthusiasts. The design is based around light
weight, functionality and innovative technology. The result
is a car offering extreme high-performance; a road-going
race simulator, ready to stimulate and surprise the most
performance-oriented of all Tifosi. Ferrari engineers have
removed a huge 100kg from their already athletic F430
berlinetta, providing the 430 Scuderia with a dry weight of
only 1250 kg. The naturally aspirated 4308 cc V8 has been
tuned to 510 bhp at 8500 rpm.
The abundance of cutting edge technology in the 430 Scuderia
assure the highest standards of contemporary road-going
sports cars. The latest F1 gearbox software, called
Superfast, reduces gear change times to a mere 60
milliseconds, whereas a new traction control system
combines, for the first time, the E-Diff electronic
differential and the F1-Trac traction and stability control
in a single integrated system.
