As a background
to the stand created in view of the Transpotec 2007,
Fiat Professional created a special Village where some
vehicles produced by leading outfitters are on show.
Among these
special vehicles, those built around the Ducato models stand
out: this is the best proof of the versatility of a model
that, thanks to a modular chassis concept, was always able
to offer the right solution for all needs related to city
and inter-city light transport. Its range is extremely
diversified and, considering body-engine-mechanics
combinations, it offers some 2000 versions, over 300 types
of body variants, 150 optionals and 120 colours, not to
mention the countless solutions offered by
coachbuilders-outfitters specialized in leisure models
(campers, caravans, motor homes) or special passenger
transport (minibuses, school buses, ambulances, vehicles for
the disabled) and goods (large, insulated, armoured bodies
for the transport of valuables, mobile shops).
In Milan
visitors to the Village will be able to experience and
appreciate, at first hand, all the winning qualities of the
Ducato model in its many versions:
- two models of mobile workshop produced by Order System
and by Baggio and De Sordi;
- a 22 m3 van in aluminium built by Aluvan Italia on a
Cabinato model, with long wheelbase and extra-overhang;
- a vehicle intended for Road Rescue outfitted by the
Algema Company: it features hydraulic tilt platform and rear
pneumatic suspensions. The total length of the vehicle is
over 7.2 metres while the loading surface area is 4.9 metres
(useful capacity 1600 kg);
- a low frame proposed solution proposed by Alko with 4.3
m wheelbase and frame length of 5.3 metres, coupled to a
tractor cab;
- hydraulic sideboards and tailgate for automatic loading
complete the features offered by Dhollandia;
- two Ducato trucks made by Scattolini: one with fixed, 4.0
m cargo body and the other with three-way tilt cargo body
3.15 metre long;
- among Onnicar's proposal we will find: the first vehicle,
built around the Maxi Cabinato model, long wheelbase, with
18 metre aerial platform and 200 kg cradle. The second is a
truck with three-way tilt aluminium cargo body, 3.15 metres
long, net capacity 1450 kg. The third Ducato model is also a
truck but with double cab with accommodation for 7
(including driver), equipped with fixed cargo body, 2.5
metres in length and capacity of 1000 kg, plus hydraulic
crane with lifting capacity of 700 kg and 4.5 metre boom;
- Panorama 4x4 outfitted by Dangel will also raise great
interest. Equipped with the powerful 120 Multijet, the
vehicle offers all-wheel traction allowing travelling on any
road and in conditions of low adhesion. In detail, the 4x4
transmission is of the permanent type controlled by an
exclusive magnetic joint - patented by the outfitter - which
automatically transfers torque to the axles. Compared to the
standard viscous joint, this solution reduces overall size
and weight, and also improves riding comfort at low speed
and torque transfer times. Front and rear suspensions are 20
and 50 mm higher respectively, compared to the basic 4x2
vehicle;

Two Ducato models intended for passenger transport
will also be present at the Fiat Professional
Village: the first is a 13-seat Minibus (+ driver)
equipped with the 160 Multijet Power, the second is
a Scuolabus Medie, fitted with the 120 Multijet,
which can carry up to 21 students, in addition to
tutor and driver. |

Together with these Ducato models, also five outfits of the
new Fiorino will be on show, which proves that the model is
able to meet the most diversified requirements. The first
vehicle, by Storevan (Fami Group), intended for mail
collection and distribution, is offered with a corrugated
aluminium load platform, suitable for the installation of a
rotary hopper (for picking up the mail from the boxes), and
plastic containers. The protection of the load platform is
ensured by plastic liner, while security of the load is
guaranteed by a padlock system, positioned on the rear and
side doors.
The second
vehicle, by Car Fibreglass, has a washable interior lining
which is also waterproof and not adversely affected by
disinfection: thus, it is recommended for the transportation
of food and medical goods. In detail, it is a kit consisting
of pre-moulded sides, easy to install (assembling takes only
4-6 hours) which does not affect load volume and especially
the vehicle weight capacity.
Wurth will show
a new Fiorino converted to a mobile workshop with suitable
and multi-functional accessories including extractable
drawers, shelves with object-holding recesses, cabinets and
pipes-holders. The fourth vehicle, outfitted by the new
Carrozzeria Torinese, offers a specific solution for
telephone and electricity companies, similarly to the
outfits already produced on Panda Van Dobḷ Cargo and Ducato
models. The conversion consists of an aluminium lined wooden
platform, cabinet with drawers and recesses overhanging
above the wheel box, a 6 kg fire extinguisher while, the
driver's cab has a First Aid kit and another 2 kg
extinguisher.
The last Fiorino
exhibited at the Milan exhibition will be an outfit by
Novaplast suitably refrigerated for urban deliveries.
Effective insulating panels perfectly match the interior of
the load platform and a double door seal ensures efficient
refrigeration. The floor of the refrigerated cell is bath
tub shaped to avoid infiltrations between the panels and the
body, while refrigeration is provided by a cooler unit with
flat evaporator for 0° C temperatures.
An isothermal
Dobḷ Cargo van equipped with 0 - 4° C refrigerator, and
three other outfit versions based on the Scudo model
complete the exhibits in the Fiat Professional Village. In
detail, Storevan and Sortimo Italia have built two mobile
workshops while Car Fibreglass converted a Scudo Maxi into
an isothermal van intended for the delivery of food, in
compliance with HACCP regulations.
