Lamborghini has
inaugurated another new outlet, this time in the Estonian
capital city Tallinn; this is the Raging Bull's first
dealership in the Baltic region and the Eesti Talleks-owned
showroom will also cover the Finnish market. It is the
latest step in a growing global roll-out of the brand which
has seen the Bologna-based carmaker recently entering
growing new markets such as Russia, India, China and Brazil,
as well as significantly increasing its dealership numbers
in countries including the UK and the USA.
The new
dealership in Tallinn belongs to Eesti Talleks, one of
Estonia's leading conglomerates, which already owns a
country-wide Volkswagen distributorship network. VW owns
Audi which in turns owns the Lamborghini brand. The new
Lamborghini showroom in Tallinn opened with a ceremony on
July 12. Amongst the invited guests was Lamborghini
President and CEO Stephan Winkelmann. “There is very strong
potential for Automobili Lamborghini in new markets such as
Estonia, and our new dealership in the capital city is a
mark of our commitment to establishing and expanding the
brand within such markets,” said Winkelmann.
The Estonian
company already operates a chain of Volkswagen dealerships
in Estonia and since its foundation in 1998, it has
improved Volkswagen's position on the Estonian car market
from poor to top rank. Saksa Auto has dealerships in
Tallinn, Tartu, Pärnu, Jôhvi and Viljandi. The operation in
Tallinn was at the time it opened the first Volkswagen
dealership in the world to be built completely according
Volkswagen's current guidelines, the so-called piazza or
marketplace concept.

In accordance with this concept, the dealership has a large,
modern showroom and a state-of-the-art garage with all the
necessary technical facilities. In addition to the
dealership activities, all import activities are managed
from a modern building in Tallinn.
Tallinn with a population of around 400,000 is the capital
of Estonia; it is an historic seaport but in recent years
has developed a thriving IT sector. Eesti Talleks said
during the inauguration ceremony that its goal is to sell at
least ten Lamborghini models per year. The 180 square meter
showroom in the Mustamae district will feature significant
models from the Lamborghini sports car range, starting with
the Gallardo, which has a local list price of 2.5 million
kroons (160,000 euros). Eesti Talleks plans to add another
VW-owned prestige marque this year, Bentley, with further
high-end brand names also set to be introduced soon.
Meanwhile, it is
being reported that Lamborghini will report a healthy 30
percent year-on-year sales rise for the first six months of
the year, when Audi unveils its half-year interim report on
30th July. Lamborghini will announce another record sales
period with 1239 cars so far this year, compared to the 952
it achieved in the same period last year.
