Scuderia Toro Rosso will go into this afternoon's Turkish Grand Prix requiring a healthy dose of good fortune if it is to get either of its drivers anywhere near the points after the it continued to struggle for competitiveness during the qualifying session

In Monte Carlo this afternoon Ferrari secured its first podium finish of the season, thanks to Kimi Raikkonen’s determined drive to third place and Felipe Massa finished right behind him, to give the Scuderia its best finish of the season

Scuderia Toro Rosso had an impressive qualifying session this afternoon in Monte Carlo with both of the Ferrari-powered cars making it into Q2 and Sebastien Buemi and Sebastien Bourdais claiming the 11th and 13th spots on the grid

For the first time this season Ferrari has got a car onto the front row of the grid after Kimi Raikkonen set the second fastest time in Monaco just a couple of hundredths of a second slower than the Brawn of pole winner Jenson Button

Both Toro Rosso drivers were knocking on the door of the top-10 yesterday in Monte Carlo with Sebastien Buemi reporting a positive day and making progress although Sebastien Bourdais was less happy with his Ferrari-powered STR4

It was a trouble free first practice day for Scuderia Ferrari in Monte Carlo today with the F60s of Kimi Raikkonen and Felipe Massa looking competitive and completing a total of 73 laps each and finishing in the top ten in both sessions

"I will always support my team and to be honest, it is not just Ferrari standing alone in this," said Felipe Massa at the press conference in Monaco, "we have taken the lead in the matter, but most of the other teams think the same way"

Ferrari has reacted swiftly to the decision of the Tribunal de Grande Instance this morning saying in a statement that it is now considering further legal action and that if the budget cap is introduced it will stick to its decision to withdraw

In its bitter fight to overturn the FIA's budget cap proposals Ferrari has seen the court hearing it brought before the Tribunal de Grande Instance in Paris where it argued that it had a right to veto technical changes thrown out this morning

Since the F1 World Championship started in 1950 Scuderia Ferrari cannot consider the annual trip to the streets of Monte Carlo a truly profitable one, as the last victory for a Prancing Horse car dates back to Michael Schumacher’s win in 2001

"It’s always a very special week," says Kimi Raikkonen. "It’s a unique track where the qualifying is more important than on the other tracks and we have to try to implement it in the best possible way, learning from the lesson we were taught recently"

Formula 1 has descended in further acrimony over the FIA's budget cap with Scuderia Ferrari heading to the French courts in a concerted effort to prevent the proposals that will drastically slash teams' costs going ahead for 2010

"The F60's behaviour at Barcelona was completely different compared to the first races," reflects Scuderia Ferrari driver Felipe Massa, "it was much more fun driving it, it was more stable and had more grip and a higher downforce"

The Ferrari board met today in Maranello to discuss the FIA's budget cap for next year and afterwards expressed its outright opposition to the plans saying that it will quit if they are implemented and bring to an end 60 years of F1 participation

Felipe Massa finally scored points for the first time this season, picking up the three that go with sixth place in Barcelona although before a refuelling issue reared he looked on course for fourth place; team mate Kimi Raikkonen retired

Toro Rosso's interest in the Spanish Grand Prix had ceased by the time the field streamed out of the second bend as the two Ferrari-powered STR4 cars collided with each other after they were innocent parties during a first corner fracas

Ferrari, benefitting from a new aero package, showed a dramatic return to form today in Barcelona with Felipe Massa setting the fourth fastest qualifying time although Kimi Raikkonen failed to benefit as a strategic error sunk his chances in Q1

In common with most of the teams Scuderia Ferrari has brought a significant aerodynamic update package to Barcelona, based partly on the planned development programme and partly on lessons learned from the first four races
