29.12.2003 FERRARI'S NEW 2+2 PREPARES FOR WORLD PREMIERE AT DETROIT MOTOR SHOW IN LITTLE OVER A WEEK'S TIME

The new Ferrari 612 Scaglietti is seen again in the flesh being unloaded from a transporter. Due to be officially presented at the Detroit Motor Show next month, the new 2+2 has already been shown to valued customers and dealers at two events in November, held in Ferrari's new conference facility at the Maranello factory and at a third private event in New York earlier this month.

Named after one of Ferrari's famous craftsmen, the 612 is powered by a 5.748 cc V12 engine, producing 540bhp at 7,250rpm. Despite weighing in at a considerable 1.840kg, the 2+2 can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 4.2 seconds and reaches a top speed in excess of 315 km/h. This makes it the world’s fastest production 2+2 and is set to clearly become another automotive benchmark.
