The Vodafone Ferrari stand at the Bologna Motor Show was headlined by the new 360 GTC which was joined in an all racing line-up by its larger sister, the 575 GTC, and two of the Formula 1 World Championship winning F2003-GA chassis. The 360 GTC, presented in an eye-catching bright yellow colour scheme, is an improved version of the current GT-class 360 Modena and is drawn from the 'Challenge Stradale' with the aim of countering head on the threat posed by the new Porsche GT3-RSR. This model, with a dry weight of 1100 kilos, was developed by the Corse Clienti Department in Maranello, in collaboration with Michelotto Automobili to compete in the N-GT class of the FIA GT series and the GT class of the American Le Mans Series, the Grand American Championship and the Le Mans Endurance Series. The larger 575 GTC is derived from the 575 M Maranello, and the racer has already tasted success, winning in the Estoril round of the FIA GT series in the hands of the JMB Racing, the car's first customer. These two sportscars are joined by two Formula 1 chassis, the F2003-GA, which Michael Schumacher drove to this year's World Championship title. As befits a motorsport orientated show in Italy, racing Ferrari 360 Modenas were in evidence on stands around the exhibition centre, while the Prodrive developed Ferrari 550 Maranello which Thomas Biagi and Matteo Bobbi used to crush the opposition on their way to the FIA GT title was shown in the Quattroroute hall. |
