DRIVING AND
WORKING SATISFACTION
|
The New Doblò
(car and Cargo) surrounds its driver and passengers with
technologies that assure the highest standards of comfort.
This is illustrated by the long list of options you can use
to customise your vehicle. These devices include two radios
(with tape or CD player) and CONNECT, the sophisticated
state-of-the-art infotelematic system that includes
satellite navigation, a radio, a CD player, GSM dual-band
handsfree phone, voice commands and bCONNECT services.
A particularly extensive accessory range has been designed
for the New Doblò. These items enhance the flexibility,
practicality and comfort of the new model within a highly
original design context. The accessories are complemented by
a range of practical and functional items designed to suit
the unmistakable, fun-filled personality of the New Doblò:
examples include convenient carrier bars, a satellite
antitheft system, a parking sensor and a clear box. The role
of the clear box is to monitor the vehicle. It continually
monitors the data to allow the vehicle to be tracked in real
time and/or historically; locate its position; record the
mileage and the driving style - and above all to benefit
from beneficial third party liability insurance rates as
part of the Pay Per Use package. You can also equip your
vehicle with a handsfree system with Bluetooth technology.
Sound system
The very attractive sound system range includes two types of
radio (optional) produced by Blaupunkt. The radios were
designed in conjunction with the German company, a world
leader in the sector and all share the feature that the
sound system has been thoroughly developed and adjusted to
the specific passenger compartment. The system consists of
six speakers (two speakers on the dashboard, two in the
front doors and two in the parcel rack mount) that develop a
power output of 4 x 20 Watts.
Both radios are built into the design of the dashboard and
laid out in user-friendly fashion. The radios are located on
the upper part of the facia (the correct arrangement for the
driver) and are also within easy reach of the passenger.
They can also store up to 30 stations and offer RDS (Radio
Data System), PTY (the code that radio stations use to
indicate the type of music broadcast) and TA (traffic
announcement) function. The radios are also fitted with a
useful device that ensures the radio is turned on at the
volume setting active when it was turned off. The difference
between the two levels lies in the player. The first type
plays tapes while the second can be used to play single CDs
and comes with a mechanism that regulates the volume
according to vehicle speed.

Radios with CD players are protected against theft due to a
communication link with the electronic unit that manages the
electrical system (body computer). This is how it works:
when the radio is turned on, the body computer reads the
radio safety code (four-figure) and activates it only if the
numerical sequence is recognised. This makes the device
unusable on any car (unless fitted with the same device).
The radio with tape player is also protected against theft
by a personal secret code. The New Doblò offers radio wiring
including a roof-mounted aerial and all the electrical
connections required to install the system as standard.
Wiring for a mobile phone with dual function aerial is an
option: this is used for tuner reception and phone signal
transmission (so that the customer does not need to add
another aerial - to safeguard vehicle quality and
reliability).
Handsfree
system with Bluetooth technology
The Bluetooth handsfree system available from the accessory
range ensures maximum driving safety under all conditions.
The system allows customers with Bluetooth mobile phones to
use their phones even when in their jacket pockets or
handbags. This system automatically lowers the radio volume
(if turned on) and allows you to hear the person you are
speaking to through the stereo speakers.
Connect
The New Doblò may be equipped as an option with CONNECT, a
sophisticated cutting-edge infotelematic system that
includes a satellite navigation system radio, CD player,
dual-band GSM handsfree phone, voice commands and bCONNECT
services.
The device is located in the centre of the facia and is
equipped with a 5 inch TFT colour screen (active matrix)
that allows the driver to follow easy instructions for the
set route on the display (and also voice commands). CONNECT
is a telematic product that makes cutting-edge technology
available to drivers and ensures in-car living is even more
comfortable and easy while you are en route for your
destination. All this comes courtesy of the GPS/GSM network
and the benefits of satellite communication: one press of
the green key allows customers to communicate in handsfree
mode in their own language (six are available) with an
operator who can meet all their information and service
requirements. The various services on offer include, for
example, the possibility of receiving information on
motorway traffic conditions in real time for a custom route
or an area of interest or record a short conversation when
it is not possible to take notes (voice memo function).
The device is available as an option in two specification
levels: CONNECT Nav, including RDS radio with CD, trip
computer, GSM phone with hands free operation, GPS module
and SOS key to link up to the Contact Centre and receive
assistance and information, pictogram navigation system; the
second level, CONNECT Nav+, complements the above functions
with a map navigation system with 5 inch active matrix
colour display, atlas functions, voice commands for the
phone and a voice memo. |
