ORIGINAL STYLING
|
An original
design that encloses a much bigger space than the exterior
dimensions suggest. Although the exterior dimensions are
slightly increased - it is 4253 mm long, 1722 wide and 1818
high - the new Doblò is definitely a multipurpose vehicle:
as manageable and comfortable as a station wagon and as
roomy as an MPV. It offers the same versatility as the
latter at an advantageous price, but more compact exterior
dimensions.
In line with the most up-to-date aesthetic canons, the New
Doblò offers a design that emphasises function without ever
losing sight of a distinctive line that weds elegance and
marked personality, as is borne out by the imposing front
end that is the perfect foil to the vehicle's overall mass.
Spare styling, then, but able to convey a sensation of
sturdiness and protective solidity. Distinctive features are
apparent: large up-to-date headlights (dual barrel) and a
large central 'V' motif that starts from the bonnet, runs
down to the bumpers and wraps around the entire front end.
The side view emphasises the perfect integration between
wing and front bumper that accentuates the compact nature of
the front end and the new broad and protective side strips.
Evident at the rear is a new rear bumper and brand-new
tail-lights with clear two-tone glass. Inside you can see
two half-cylinders (behind the red glass) and a central area
(white glass) that houses the turn signal and reversing
light.

The surface and inside of the tail-light also display
original styling for a perfect match with the headlights.
The rear bumper is also new, with built-in reflectors and
parking sensors (optional) and a number plate light holder
built into the up and over tailgate.
Inside, the vehicle's style is also linear and elegant,
always understated and functional, designed to emphasise the
sensation of roominess that you feel as soon as you climb on
board. When you open the door, for example, you will be
struck by the new trim panel, now even more opulent than
before since it covers most of the visible metal to make the
passenger compartment a more agreeable environment. This
aesthetic touch does not detract from its practicality: the
new panel (standard on all versions except the Doblò Actual
and Cargo base) offers window controls built into the
armrest in a user-friendly position.
The dashboard of the New Doblò has also been revised to
offer an up-to-date combination match between dark grey at
the top and a new pale grey colour at the bottom plus new
speaker grilles that match the grilles in the door panel.
The end result is to make the entire passenger compartment
look more opulent. It is also made more practical by a new
shelf over the windscreen (very useful for documents, maps
and items). New colours and a brand new seat design are also
available, according to the specification. The gear lever,
exclusive for its segment, is located on the dashboard for a
safer, more comfortable drive. |
