06.12.2002 ROUND UP: SANDOR VAN ES WINS PEARLE ALFA 147 CHALLENGE TITLE AT ZANDVOORT
A steady drive to fourth
place in the closing Finale Races meeting of the 2002 Pearle Alfa
147 Challenge was enough to give Dutchman Sandor Van Es the title for the
first time. Second place in the race for Allard Kalff was not enough for
him to close the gap and he took the runners up spot, four points adrift.
Only Van Es and Kalff were in the running, third place in the series was claimed by Sebastian Bleekemolen, a late season charge elevating him up the order, but still finishing 22 points adrift of team mate Kalff. In a closely fought closing race for equal standard 2.0-litre Alfa 147's built by N-Technology in Italy, Rory Bertram took victory just over a second ahead of Allard Kalff. |
